How to Use AI Assist for Catalog Updates and Product Creation

You can now use AI Assist to bulk update existing items using a CSV file or quickly create new products by uploading vendor documents or simply typing what you need.

Bulk Updating Catalog Items via CSV

If you need to update prices, descriptions, or quantities across a large number of Products, Components, or Rentals, AI Assist can process these changes for you using a CSV file.

The Best Workflow for Bulk Updates:

  1. Navigate to your Settings and Export your existing Product, Component, or Rental list.

  2. Open the exported CSV and make your targeted changes (such as updating the costs or purchase quantities).

  3. Open AI Assist in Curate, upload your saved CSV file, and ask the AI to update your catalog using the file.

Important Notes for CSV Updates:

  • Do not delete the ID column: AI Assist matches the items in your spreadsheet to the existing items in your catalog using the unique item ID.

  • Categories must already exist: If you assign an item to a new category (e.g., "F&B") in your spreadsheet, that category must already be created in your Curate account settings. AI Assist cannot generate brand-new categories during a bulk update.

  • Unit conversions: When updating purchase quantities, ensure your numbers align with the base units set up for that item (such as ounces vs. pounds).

Creating New Products with AI Assist

You no longer need to manually fill out forms to add new products to your catalog. AI Assist can generate them for you based on a conversational request or by reading an uploaded document.

How to Create a Product:

  1. Open AI Assist and either type a request (e.g., "Create a new product for a Modern Breakfast Table, seats 4, costs $5") OR upload a PDF, such as a vendor invoice or pricing sheet.

  2. If AI Assist is reviewing an uploaded document and cannot find a matching product currently in your catalog, it will ask if you want to create a new one.

  3. AI Assist will extract the relevant information and present a summary of the proposed product details.

  4. Review the details for accuracy. Once you hit Confirm, the AI will build the product in your catalog.

What AI Assist Can Capture: The AI can automatically populate the Product Name, Description, Branches, Tags, Default Markup Profile, Price, Assigned Cost, Account Code, Dynamic Order Quantity, Production Notes, and standard Galley fields.

Note: AI Assist product creation currently does not support building Recipes or Galley mapping considerations. These will need to be configured manually after the base product is created.
